Weekly Update #3 - Maybe The Real Treasure Was The Bridges We Burned On The Way
Hey ho, hey ho, delivering the weekly update we go! FUNG is getting all the focus once again so we can hit our target of finishing the game in about 4 months. To that end we have added some more level mechanics and tools that will be present in Chapter Two - COLLAPSE
If you haven't yet figured out the theme of the next chapter from the title (and the stream of updates in our Discord), COLLAPSE is about physics puzzles and bridge building. So, starting off strong we have added a softbody simulation and four new tools:
- Bridges
- Walls
- Girders
- Ropes
These tools should provide a wide array of potential puzzles alongside all the other level elements already present. If you can't wait for the chapter release in about 2 months time, don't worry, we've already got a very short taste tester level pack for you!
Those that have the game on Steam will be able to download the new levels from the Steam Workshop immediately! Itch.io users will find the level pack in the Discord!
If you're looking for updates on Drift King, this will be the last one you'll see for a little while yet, make sure to follow us on itch.io for any future updates. Drift King is our favourite project and it's going to take a lot of strength to keep it on the backburner, so who knows, it might get a sneaky update or two in between work on FUNG.
FUNG - Changelog:
- Added rigid softbody Walls and Bridges
- Added fully rigid Girders
- Added flexible Ropes
- Bridge parts have a strain limit, if too much tension is applied they'll snap
- Remove "mixels", hoses now render at the same pixel scale as the level
- Added shadows to some level elements to improve visibility
We'd love to see your creations with these new tools, so submit them to the Workshop and the Discord, we'll feature all the ones that we enjoy.
- George
