So I dunno if anyone else has this issue, but on startup it plays the intro music, but shows nothing but a black screen. Pls help, I really like this game.
Could you try this for me on your original computer?
Go to C:\Users\{Your Username}\AppData\LocalLow\Mellow\ and delete the DriftKing folder and then run the game again, give it a few seconds after starting up to reinitialise the folder
No need to yell mate, I can hear ya! Are you encountering the Windows Defender prompt that is only giving you one option? You'll need to click "More Information" to reveal the "Run Anyway" button!
If this doesn't help, can you tell me your operating system and any error message, if any? Thanks!
Hey there! Sorry for the late response, it's game jam season. If you're on keyboard the enter key is used for navigating menus. On controllers the A button serves the same purpose
I'd get rid of the fog entirely and turn down the bloom as it can make it hard to see where to go next in races. I found the handling to be too floaty overall but it was mitigated a bit with upgrades. Mainly when hooking up from a drift I found myself fishtailing whenever it would hook back up. Maybe make the starting stats a bit grippier and then the upgrades even more so. Also for the map icons you could create race ui icons notifying whether or not a race is a time trial or a ai race. Same for the shops so you wouldn't have to figure it out for the first time by driving there to see what the arbitrary colored icons mean. I know the game is still in alpha so I'm sure you're addressing all of these and a lot more but these are a few suggestions cause this has a lot of potential.

Also,would it be possible to add 1st Person and some easter eggs(already found the temple ;D)? And Maybe,if possible of course, visual Damage? For example if you crash ,you get e.g. scratches. Physical Deformation is not required,as it would only make the game more rescource intensive,and would "ruin" the low-poly asthetic. (Only an idea of course :D)
Also,please make the invisible borders of the roads a bit smaller,I crashed itno them a lot in "unreality"
Hey, thanks for the support! I've done a lot of camera work since the last alpha was released, and this includes firstperson and hood views! I've just started on the multiplayer, and will be doing some limited beta testing soon, let me know if you'd like to be a part of that!
In terms of physical damage, I'm still iterating on what kind of damage I want in the game, seeing as it's arcade I don't want to punish the player too severely for hitting barriers, but it'd be cool to wreck the car at least visually.
The full release won't be free, since I want to have a solid, healthy multiplayer, and good servers don't come cheap. It won't be much though!

Are you getting a firewall prompt? Try running play-offline.bat and see if that works
I did try playing it offline, but it still shows a black screen.
(Edit: It might just be a problem with my pc)

I tried this on a different computer and it worked.

how are you supposed to select, in the pause menu i can move my selection but i cant select it. please help
